Where to go out in Bratislava, Slovakia

Are you planning a trip to Bratislava and are wondering where to go out? Then here is a list of some of the most popular bars and clubs in Bratislava.

Basically, these are all the places where all the exchange students go if you are looking for a more international crowd but of course you can also find locals there as well. I hope this can answer your question about where to go out in Bratislava.

Bars in Bratislava

Bar On

Obchodná 557, 811 06 Bratislava

If I am being honest, this is not my favourite place. It smells terrible and the employees don’t know what customer service is but somehow still everybody goes there. The drinks are probably the cheapest you can find in Bratislava (Beer 1€, Vodka shot 1€).

Starter Pub

Obchodná 521/36, 811 06 Bratislava

This bar is located just opposite of Bar On and also quite popular. It is a little bit more expensive but also still pretty cheap. Usually, if Bar On is too busy people will just go to Starter or Piccolo which is located right next to Starter.

Piccolo

Obchodná 521/36, 811 06 Bratislava

Located next to Starter, Piccolo is another place to go to if you get tired of Bar On or Starter. The cool thing about it is that it is open until 4am every day even on the weekdays. Whereas, some other bars usually close early during the week.

Goblin’s Bar

Michalská 386/12, 811 01 Bratislava

If you wouldn’t know about this place you would probably not find it as it is kind of hidden underground. It is maybe not a place where I would hang out all night but always good for a drink or two. The layout is pretty cool.

Zlatého Bazanta

Dunajská 4, 811 08 Bratislava

I mostly know this place because they sell beer towers, so it’s a cool place to go when you have a bigger group of friends with you. It is also a bigger place and therefore does not feel as crowded as for example Bar On or Piccolo.

Clubs in Bratislava

Masquerade

Ventúrska 277/16, 811 01 Bratislava

Masquerade is located in like the main street of the old town and a fun place for a night out. The music is usually good but it is not the biggest place so sometimes you can spent some more time queuing outside. It’s a fun place just don’t arrive too late.

The Club

Rybné námestie 4135/1, 811 02 Staré

The Club is located close to the Most SNP bus station. They usually have quite good music but the only issue is that they always change the song after like a minute. Other than that, this place always gets super crowded so there is not much space to dance. It is still better than Channels though.

Channels

Župné námestie 2, 811 01 Bratislava-Staré

While writing this post, I actually found out that Channels is open every day of the week. So I guess Channels is your place to go if everything else is closed but you still want to go out. Drinks are super expensive.

KC Dunaj

Nedbalova 435/3, 811 01 Bratislava

This place is super confusing, you have to take an elevator to get up and last time I was there I couldn’t find the exit. Anyway other than that it is kind of a bar but sometimes a club when they have events. I have not figured that out yet but it is a fun night sometimes depending on the events.

There are also a bunch of awesome day trips from Bratislava if you are in the area for longer.

Trafo

We once had a good night out at Trafo. The only downside was that we were like the only people in the whole club. Then around 2:30am people started coming but then at 3am they closed the club so that was not as fun.

But for some reasons they had some special when we entered, as we were 4 girls and paid 5€ each and then got two bottles of champagne for free so would still recommend this place.

Tanker Boat

On the Danube River

Tanker Boat is quite unique because as the name suggests it is a club on a boat. However, it is not a regular club and not open most of the days. Sometimes they also just host private parties.

However, it is still pretty cool so make sure to just check on their Facebook page to see if there is an event during that time in which you are in Bratislava.

Casey

Botanická 6197/35, 831 04 Karlova Ves

This club just opened recently about a week before I left Bratislava so I have only been there once. I guess it is the replacement of the Unique Club where everyone went on Tuesdays, which has closed before Christmas last year. It is quite small but the music was awesome. Definitely your place to go to on Tuesdays.
