Seoul is known as the plastic surgery capital of the world, with the highest number of plastic surgery clinics per capita. Due to its high beauty and difficult to achieve beauty standard, you can also find all sorts of order treatments and services in Korea as well. A lot of these might not even be available in other countries.
One service that has become increasingly popular over the past couple of years is a personalised colour analysis. Also, due to social media.
A colour analysis is a service where a specialist will identify your personal colour palette. With this information, it will become a lot easier to dress in colours that suit your undertones, which is especially helpful if you have no idea what colours suit you best. But of course it’s just a recommendation and in the end you can wear whatever you want.

Where to get a colour analysis in Seoul?
There are so many places where you can get a colour analysis in Seoul, it might be a little overwhelming even to do your research. Most of them will give you a similar experience. If you don’t speak Korean, make sure to find a place that is foreigner-friendly and either has translators or English-speaking staff.
I mostly just looked at some TikToks of different people beforehand, and wrote down a couple of places that I thought looked and sounded nice. And then I just made a decision based on the price and how easy the booking process was. There were fewer options then, but now you can just as easily book your colour analysis through a normal booking website.
Where I went for my colour analysis In Seoul
I went to a place called Cocory near Hongdae (but they do have multiple locations).
It was easy to reach by metro and bus from Myeongdong, and the woman who did my colour analysis was very friendly and also spoke English.
How much does a colour analysis cost?
I went to Cocory in April 2024, and I paid 130000 Won (about €88 at the time) in total. And I would definitely recommend this place!
Prices can vary but in general most range between €85 and €150 from what I see online.

My colour analysis in Seoul
After arriving at the Studio, she first measured the Undertones and level of redness in my face with a little device. Based on that she told me that I am a cool tone. So when it comes to make-up, I should look for cooler colours, and also, due to the amount of redness in my skin, she recommended using a green primer to balance that out.
That was already super helpful because I could never figure out if I was a cool or a warm tone. Afterwards, she made me sit in front of the mirror and placed fabric of all different sorts of colour pallets on me so that we could see which colours made me look better and which ones worse.
That is probably the process that you most often see on social media and that you have in mind when thinking about a Korean colour analysis. It turns out, colours with very little saturation looked the best on me, which meant I was a vivid summer.
We also went thought all the other seasons to see what looks the best, and we also discussed which sorts of greys and more neutral colours world work the best.
Honestly, this was super helpful because I always used to buy bright colours that were very saturated and ended up never wearing them because they just didn’t look good. And we also discussed if I should wear silver or gold jewellery. Silver all the way, luckily, because that’s what I always thought.
Once we went through all the colour palettes, she was analysing some make-up I brought to see if it matched the shades of red in my skin and my overall cool tone. Let’s just say that most of them did not! She then luckily gave me a lot of tips on brands and colours that I could buy at Olive Young.
In the end she was open to answering any more of my question. And I also received a little summary of all the things we discussed.

Overall experience of getting a colour analysis in Seoul
To conclude, I found this colour analysis in Seoul very helpful and I was pretty happy I did it! It now makes it a little easier to buy clothes and make up. And in general, since then, I have mostly been buying clothes in colours that I actually ended up wearing.
Of course, in the end, wear whatever you want and what you to feel most comfortable in, but it still doesn’t hurt to get a professional colour analysis in Seoul.
