The first time I went backpacking was back in 2014 after I finished High School and since then I have stayed in a lot of hostels. Because I always travel solo I do like to stay in party hostels every now and then because they are just way more social.
It is also way easier to make friends in these sort of hostel than it is in the more quiet ones. I have been wanting to make a list of my favourite party hostels for a long time now. However, I just didn’t feel like I had stayed in enough hostels yet that I could add to my list.
The following hostels are all places that I have stayed at throughout the years. In some even more than once! So here are my top 8 best party hostels around the world up until now.
Retox Party Hostel, Budapest, Hungary

Base St Kilda, Melbourne, Australia
It’s been a long time since I have stay at this hostel but I remember it was a lot of fun. The hostel is quite big which means it might not always be the most social one.
However, they where hosting events on a lot of nights or parties and it was a really fun party hostel. Not the cheapest, but that can be said about like every place in Australia.
Purple Monkey, Medellín, Colombia
While they didn’t have any events from the hostel, I still thought Purple Monkey was a really social hostel. Overall, I have stayed in 5 different Hostels in Medellín and this one was my favourite.
Mostly, it was small enough to still meet people but still big enough that there were always people that wanted to go out.
They also had a nice rooftop terrace (sadly without views of the city) where they sell cheap drinks and it is nice to socialise with others. Like most hostels in Medellín, it is also not too far away from the party scene.

The Pink Palace, Corfu, Greece
I have already written a whole review about the Pink Palace and all its advantages and disadvantages. Overall, it is a great hostel, I met great people and the parties were fun but I don’t think it is what it used to be.
The hostel offers booze cruises in the summer or toga parties at night which you should not miss out on.
The hostel also includes breakfast and dinner. The best thing about the dinner is that they make you sit with random people so it is a great opportunity to start a conversation with strangers.

Little Havana Party Hostel, Krakow, Poland
I have stayed in this hostel twice so far. There were a few things that I didn’t like about it but it was still a great party hostel. There is a pub crawl every night that starts at the hostel which also includes one hour of unlimited drinks so if you are drunk it is quite easy to meet new people.
On top of that, you get one free beer for every night that you are staying there so that is also great. The hostel is located on top of a club so it can get quite loud at night but that is normal for a party hostel.
Slumber Party Koh Phangan/ Krabi
Slumber Party is actually a chain of hostels so you could encounter them in different places in Thailand or Indonesia as well I believe. I have only stayed at the ones on Koh Phangan and Krabi but both of these places were super fun and some of the best party hostels in Thailand. There are parties at the hostel every night and it is really easy to meet some new people.
Dreamer Hostel, Santa Marta, Colombia
While Santa Marta itself is not the most interesting city, Dreamer Hostel definitely makes up for that. They have a cool pool and a nice area to hang out at and some events like dinners or parties.
I had also met a lot of solo travellers which was really great as their seemed to be so many groups traveling in Colombia in general.

Florentine Backpackers Hostel, Tel Aviv
This hostel is where I have stayed on my most recent trip. It has been one of my favourite hostels I have stayed at.
Mostly, because they have a nice outside terrace where you can hangout and meet fellow travellers. There is also a small communal dinner every night which is based on tips.
And at night every day, one of the hostel employees will take people out to the bars/clubs. Also, in that way the hostel will be quiet after 11pm as most people have gone out and you can still get a good nights sleep.

Pachamama Hostel, San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua
This hostel was recommended to be by someone who used to volunteer there. In the city of San Juan del Sur there is a weekly pool pub crawl every Sunday which is called “Sunday Funday” and is quite legendary.
The pub crawl actually started at Pachamama hostel. It is a great place to surf, you can rent boards and they take you to the beach and back every day.
Also, there are some events such as booze cruises or games. To be fair the booze cruise wasn’t really a cruise, they dropped us off at an island and then left us there with a lot of rum. But it was still super fun I would definitely return to this place.
And that was my list of best party hostels in the world! What is your favourite party hostel?
Let me know in the comments 🙂

A hotel named the pink palace!? I am in! Seriously though, my biggest fear with hostel is always the cleanliness. Have encountered any issue on that matter for one of the hostel presented here?
Haha it’s a pretty unique place, everything is pink! Some places can be a little less clean though. I would not suggest Retox because it can get a little crazy and therefore the rooms aren’t always the cleanest. If you are looking for a good party hostels that is also more clean I would look at places where instead of having a party at the hostel, the hostel staff will take you out to the bars, clubs instead. In that way it does not get loud at night and you have a good good mixture of party and adventure people. Florentine Backpacker Hostel in Tel Aviv was like that and it was great! 🙂
