Tel Aviv is such a stunning place it is not difficult to have a great time in the city. The best thing about it for me is the beach, the people and of course Israeli food. In total I spent around 4 days in Tel Aviv when I travelled to Israel and this would be my ideal day.

So here you go, this is how to spend a perfect day in Tel Aviv. Well, according to me so no guarantee that this will be the perfect day in Tel Aviv for you as well.

Old Jaffa Walking Tour (11pm)

Start off the day by going on a walking tour through Old Jaffa. You can sign up online for it but also show up right at the location, they meet at the clock tower. The tour lasts around two hours and you will get to know some background information about the neighbourhood.

Lunch at Abu Hassan

This restaurant has been recommend to me by a bunch of different people and it did not disappoint. Their main dishes are basically hummus and then you can get extra falafel or fries on the side. Also, pita bread is included. If you love hummus as much as I do then this is the perfect location to enjoy the very best Israeli street food in Tel Aviv.

Walk along the beach

After a great lunch how about a walk along the beach? During Shabbat it will be super crowded as most people are free that day. But also during the week you can see people going for a run along the beach, taking their dogs on a walk or just enjoying the nice weather on the beach.

Carmel Market

While in Tel Aviv, it is definitely a must to also visit the Carmel market, which is the largest market in Tel Aviv. There, you can buy all sorts of things from spices to souvenirs to fruits and candy. Even if you are not planning on buying anything it is still a lovely experience strolling along the market stalls.

Walk to the Tel Aviv port

From the Camel market you can head back to the beach and then continue walking along the promenade all the way to the port. From there you can get nice views of the beach but there are also several surf schools. If you like to surf you can rent a board and enjoy the waves for a little bit. If not, how about a cold beer at the beach and watching the waves from ashore.

Eat Sabich for dinner

My new favourite food that I had discovered in Israel is called Sabich. It is basically a pita bread filled with Hummus, eggplant and a bunch of vegetables.

It is so good, I could eat it every day of the week. Some Israelis at the hostel told me that Sabich is mainly eaten for lunch rather than dinner but I guess since I’m describing my perfect day it is okay to eat it for dinner.

Go on a night out in Tel Aviv

And finally, have a fun night out in Tel Aviv. It is no secret that Tel Aviv is pretty famous for its diverse and impressive nightlife. Depending on your music taste there should be something available for everybody’s preferences.

What does your perfect day in Tel Aviv look like?
