Karlovy Vary is a beautiful city in the Czech Republic, located in Western Bohemia. It is the most popular spa town in the country and definitely worth a visit. The distance between Karlovy Vary and Prague is around 111 kilometres.
I had never actually heard of this place before planning a short weekend trip to the Czech Republic when I was looking for cities to visit in the area. I had stayed in Pilsen for one day and then also did a day trip to Karlovy Vary and Mariánské Lázně.
While Mariánské Lázně seems to be the more well-known spa town, I thought Karlovy Vary was way more interesting. And I am so glad I ended up visiting this place. All the buildings are absolutely stunning and just walking around the city is a lot of fun.
There is also a lot of great food you can purchase in the city such as TrdelnÃk which is a kind of spit cake that is originally from Slovakia but you might have seen it on every corner in Prague. You can also top it off with ice cream.
Anyway, I don’t have too much to say about this city but I highly recommend a visit to Karlovy Vary because it is absolutely stunning! Here are a couple of pictures to inspire you to visit Karlovy Vary.
