10 Gift Ideas for Travellers

Christmas is right around the corner and it can be difficult to find presents for people who are always on the move. Physical object and gifts might not be of much value to some people who live life on the road and keep on traveling. Some things, however do make traveling a lot easier and more comfortable so here are 10 Gift Ideas for travellers.

1. World Map

Probably the only thing on this list that you will not be carrying around in a backpack but a nice touch for all travellers that are keen to see as much of the world as possible.

It is just a map that you can put on your wall but the special thing about it, is the fact that you can scratch off the countries that you have visited. The map will be more colourful, the more countries you have visited. I really do have to get myself one of these soon!

2. Packing cubes

My last backpacking trip was the first one where I used packing cubes that I had ordered online and it really made my trip a lot easier. They are not expensive at all and if you know the struggle of keeping the inside of your backpack organised, then packing cubes can be of use. You can keep all your clothes in one place.

3. Camping cutlery

You know some hostels don’t have kitchens or someone took all the cutlery or you just want to be able to eat a yoghurt on the go. Camping cutlery has been really useful. It is not heavy at all and fits in every backpack.

4. Lifeproof phone case

I’m sure without my lifeproof case I would have gotten my iPhone screen fixed at least a dozen of times. Ever since my phone fell in the toilet and I lost all my Australia pictures, I have never left the house without it. The case is waterproof and fall proof and snow proof or something like that. I have dropped my phone multiple times and it still looks pretty new. Especially when traveling and being on the move or being on boats a lot, this lifeproof case has always come in really handy. They also have it for other phones types apart from iPhones.

5. Dry pack

I always carry a dry pack with my on my travels. They can be folded and don’t take up much space and protect all your belonging from water. In general, I always feel a lot saver if I have my dry pack near by. I have taken it for a swim but mostly I take it on diving trips or and boat trips in general. My dry pack has definitely been a good investment.

6. Microfibre towels

I would never travel again without my microfibre towels. They barely take up any space and dry a lot faster than standard towels. To sum it up they are just really useful when traveling.

7. Neck Pillow

Neck pillows make traveling so much more comfortable, especially when going on long bus rides or plane rides in general. They can easily be attached outside of the backpack! In case, however, that still takes up too much space, there are also inflatable options for neck pillows that will still do the job just fine.

8. Go pro filters

This obviously only makes sense if you or the person you want to give a present to, is an of a GoPro. But GoPro filters really make such a difference if you take underwater pictures. They come in handy when snorkelling or scuba diving and they will make your pictures more colours by adding the colour red back into the picture.

The filters don’t even have to be from GoPro itself, other brands also produce filters that work well. Here are some examples:

9. Backpack

Of course here will be cheaper and more expensive options. Depending on the size and brand of the backpack. But then again, there is no backpacking without a backpack and the choices are endless. The backpack on the right is even the one I’m currently using as my daypack and I’m quite happy with it so far.

10. Lonely Planet

These travel guides help you plan out your future trips or will just give you some general travel inspiration.

And that was it! My list of 10 gift ideas for travellers. Have you ever received any travel related gifts? Or do you have any recommendations on what you would add to this list?

Let me know in the comments!

  2. I love that you’ve picked practical travel gifts – they’re all things that people can take with them traveling (maybe except the poster – I have one of those at home!) I had no idea you could get filters for go-pros, will have to put that on the Christmas wish list 🙂

  3. I would still prefer to get a ticket to a random place haha
But good ideas. I have some of them 🙂

  4. If you buy the thin style of dry bags they also make great compression sacks and can help you save space in your bag.

  5. This is a great list. I just discovered packing cubes this year and they totally changed my trips!

  6. Ohh I like the camping cutlery idea! I’m so into sustainable items, and having something like that for meals on the go would be amazing!

  7. These are some great gift ideas but I will have to get them for myself because I’m seldom around family at gift giving time. First on the list will be a Lifeproof phone case because I can be a bit clumsy and I don’t want to lose any valuable data through a mishap.

  8. Thanks for sharing, must put a new dry bag on my list for Xmas! Oh and a life preserver whilst I think about it 🙂

  9. I lost my GoPro filter somewhere in the sea!!! I definitely need to invest in a dry bag! On a recent snorkelling trip I ended up putting my bag in a dustbin bag to attempt to keep it dry…I didn’t think the boat was going to be so tiny…I had my good camera and everything with me!

  10. Informative list, thank you for sharing Becky 🙂
